As I inventory the supply of Paper Plates and my personal cache of FAYGO Rootbeer, I look back on another eventful week in the HED.

Our beloved Jennaluv made a much welcomed but far too shortlived return to us. She dropped in, posted another excellent DH, and promptly returned to her “Walkabout”.

The HED misses you Jenna.

It’s also a time of celebration throughout HEDdom as we mark the First Lostpedia Anniversary of our Fearless Leader, Grimmy.

I will take the liberty of quoting myself with the tribute that I posted on Lostpedia.

August 26TH, 2008 was indeed a Red Letter Day here at LP.

There was a big Main Forum debate over whether Jack or Christian was actually Jacob……(probably) :roll eyes:

I had a very hectic day and posted in the Gotta Go Thread 4 times….

And, there was something else……..I had it in my notes here…..uhh…….pardon me…..what was th …….Oh Yes….It was the day that SawyerCallsMeGrimace completed his probationary period and became a full fledged LP Member !!!!

For me, this is very, very significant because we all know what happened less than 3 months later, on November 4TH, 2008′.

I would like to think that it was Fate that brought Grimmy here last August….Fate, positioning him along the Highway of Destiny to intersect with the path of young DiarmyHowley.

Those of us in the DHC know just how important those events were and, we know just how many hours of dilligent, hard work that Grimmy has logged for all of us.

Underneath that sometimes gruff, Troll baiting exterior, he’s one of the smartest, most dedicated, and most Caring People on this Forum.

And, I’m proud that he is my Friend.

True Story

As I clear party plates off the Scribe Lounge Air Hockey Table and bag the empty bottles of Faygo Root Beer ( and other beverages ) I’m looking back on a busy week in the HED.

We celebrated the Birthdays of DHC Members Kylemii and Sassafras815. Sass had to show off by coming into the World on August 15th, 8-15. Was this coincidence or fate ????

These banner days came not long after the Birthday of Miss4pt0….on 8-4 no less !!!!

We also witnessed the return of Paperknives to the HED this week. Our beloved PK. One of my first LP Friends. He’s the witty and gifted Lostpedia member who stepped into the HED in those early days, surveyed the landscape, and through the Invisability, spotted the Funny. He crafted one of the very first DH’s, set the standard for the early work and, in many ways, set us on this path we walk today. The HED Salutes you PK. Come back soon.

This week also saw the rise of several heated debates over issues of “HEDiquette”. We dabated the propriety of quoting full DH’s with their images. We also debated the use of Music Lyrics as DH captions. We also had an impassioned discussion about proper DH formats and styles. All the debating prompted some DHCers to go on brief Walkabouts to avoid the angst.

In short, we did a lot of jabbering but, in the end, it does’nt really matter what we debated. What matters is that, like a big, extended and loving Family, we came through and, we came back to the Funny. We came back to what the HED is all about. Through it all, our Beloved HED marched on, beyond the 30,000 post Milestone.

The HED is Transcendent.

When combined they form DH’s, this new Art Form, The HED, and that, We Can All Relate Too.
