I'm not sure what's going to happen with my taxes yet this year, but electing to allocate money into a flex spending account for medical bills (I have to get two root canals) drops my taxable income and puts my wife and I just under the lower tax bracket for next year. My tax liability will drop considerably and I should get a refund instead of owing.

I got my Education Retention Grant today. Basically it is kind of like a reward or motivator to stay in the low paying child care field, even though I have a degree.
