Default Vote Like You Give a Hoot™

I am announcing my candidacy for President of the United States, and because she asked to join the ticket, Beatrice828's candidacy to be Vice-President in my administration.

I think I have a platform that distinguishes me from any other candidate running. I have a cosmology that is mind-bending but deals with the real bread-and-butter issues of the here-and-now.

    Einstein and Reincarnation.

What other candidate has uttered those two words in close proximity in this campaign? Maybe Newt Gingrich, when he's had too many drinks before his Moon Base speech, but which of the sane, mainstream candidates has said this?

We have a platform that addresses alienation from society, bigotry, a coherent energy philosophy, and other things that I can't quite put into words with those two words above.

Einstein because of his insight that matter is converted into energy, and energy is converted into matter.

Reincarnation because in the soul's drive to negate karma, it often takes on the mantel of a race or creed it had found anathema in a previous lifetime.

In other words, you may become what you hate, or you may have been who you hate now. You can decay your matter putting energy into obstructionism, or you can put energy into things that matter.™

Of course, it requires many to accept premises that they may not fundamentally believe, but how is that different from the other political parties?

I relinquish the microphone to Bea and then we'll take questions.

So if I print up one bumper sticker, I have one vote?

    Better get to work.

No quid pro quo? How do I know you're serious if you don't demand something in return?

Legalization of marijuana would provide an excellent regulatory tax base---in Alaska alone!

And I am not for the legalization of taxes.

(Serious sidenote: I had a RL lawyer cousin who for years refused to file tax returns because he said they were unconstitutional. Tru story. VM me for his name).

If we get some donations in, why not blow them on frappucinos?

Hmmm. Maybe Stephen Colbert's superpac will fund this...

I second this motion, provided it extends to peppermint mochas during the cold months.

There always has to be flexibility in a presidential campaign.

[Translation: Now here's where I make my pivot to the center].

I too am for the legalization of marijuana. Not only is it a silly thing to have illegal, but I'm certian the taxes collected alone would save the government more money than was spent on the drug war to begin with. (Also clear out our prisons quite a bit...) And taxes suck, but one thing I've always wanted to do is make taxes more demecratic. Each year when you fill out your tax return, you are also given a form that lets you decide which programs your tax dollars support. Don't support the war in Iraq? Why should your money? Think the Arts programs show too much porn? Show it with your money. This way, the programs that get the money are the programs that you the people truely believe the country needs.

If we follow Einstein, then the a quark or atom or element or molecule within each one of us could have been part of a cannabinoid. The energy we have could have been in some other form the source of energy for an ancient cannabinoid.

And in a quantum universe, our quarks could be again!
